This 13 x 6 x 1/2" really projects for its size!  Granadillo (Platymiscium spp.), widely known as Mexican Rosewood or Macacauba, is a dense, exceptionally durable exotic hardwood native to Central and South America. Prized for its rich, fiery reddish-brown tones and dark streaks, it is heavily used for fine furniture, guitars, and woodturning.  Granadillo is favored for guitar fretboards, marimba bars, and percussion components because of its resonance and clear, bell-like tone.  Granadillo is often used for drums, particularly for high-end, custom-built snare drums and percussion instruments like marimbas. Often called "the wood that sings", this dense, exotic hardwood produces a ringing, bell-like tone.  This snare sports triple flange hoops, Remo Emperor X coated batter head and Remo Ambassador snare side head, both with the Rhino logo.
